South Western Railway trains run from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour in approximately 90 minutes. However, cruise passengers with full luggage allowances (often 2–4 large suitcases per person) find the train difficult — no dedicated luggage space, busy weekend trains, and a further taxi ride from Portsmouth Harbour to the cruise terminal itself.
